MODERN LINEDANCING
Fun – Friendly – Healthy
Welcome to Modern Linedancing – the website that will help you take those initial first steps out onto a dance floor near you.
Whatever you thought of previously when you heard the words ‘linedancing’, please put those words aside and be prepared to embrace Modern Linedancing in the twenty-first century. It’s great fun, friendly and healthy too.
But it’s all changed since then, and Modern Linedancing is so popular now. You will go to a dance class and hear a vast choice of music being played from the 50s right through to the present day. You could well find yourself dancing – and humming – to artistes such as
Barbra Streisand, Elvis, Ne-Yo, Bobby Darin, Dusty Springfield
Queen, Billy Fury, Elton John, Take That, Wham, Adele, JLS, Marvin Gaye,
Supremes, Bee Gees, Alexander Burke, Status Quo, Cee Lo, Lady Gaga,
Beatles, Bruno Mars, Enrique Englasias, Plan B, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban etc.
Much of the dance movements have evolved from those early days too. The range of steps and movement go right across most dance genres, so when dancing you could also be using steps from
Latin, Jive, Salsa, Ballroom, Street Dance, Hip-Hop, Swing, Riverdance
If you haven’t danced before, don’t feel daunted at the prospect of taking up Modern Linedancing. Week by week your experienced instructor will take you through the steps and routines slowly. Having mastered the basics, you will find that you want to learn more. After a while you will be so pleased you’ve developed new skills.
As you continue to make steady progress – and you are enjoying your dancing – your instructor can help you decide what level you wish to attain. There are plenty of dance challenges to be had, but likewise, should you decide that you feel comfortable at any one particular level, your instructor will help you settle and you will learn dances to compliment your new skills.
So be sure to tell your friends about your Modern Linedancing class. Bring a friend and you’ll enjoy double the fun time.
